Sarah, who blogs over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict, has been providing an outlet for quilters to provide quilts for several charities for the past few years.
She picks three charities from those suggested to her and provides the information on the size and type of quilts that are needed for each.
I have done quilts for the past 2-3 years and have been happy to do so since I know that I am sending to a group that needs the quilts. Many times my quilt guild has made quilts only to be unable to find a group that needed, or wanted, what we had made.
So, here is the quilt that I made. . . . .it is very scrappy with lots of different fabrics -- which is what I like.
As I had mentioned in an earlier block post, the thread that I used to quilt this with blended in very, very well. It was the first time that I tried doing a free motion "loopy" design but I think all the practice that I had with my standby stipple helped with my spacing.
I am sure that there will be more log cabin quilts in my future. . . they are fun to do and the more fabrics/colors the better (in my opinion)!
I was trying to get a picture of the "texture" on the back from the quilting. . . . this picture is not such a good one.
This one shows it a little better. . . .even though it is a dark picture.
Here is a close up of the quilting to show how well the thread "melted" into some of the fabrics.
