Book total is growing. . . . .

Well, I may not be getting much sewing done. . . . but I am certainly getting a lot of reading done!!

I am up to 27 books read so far this year. . . . and have 3 books in process right now --- which will take me up to 30!

Way back in 2008 (when I first started keeping track) I read 34 books --- so I could meet and/or (GASP) beat that number.

Boy, that is a LOT of books!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving. . . . .

Today I am grateful for:

being able to sleep late (even though I didn't),

not having to run around this morning to make sure I am at work on time,

knowing that my family (even though we won't all be together) are doing as well as possible,

the men and women who put their lives on the front line to protect our interests and are far from family, friends, and the comforts of home,

and, lastly, that I am not nuts enough to be doing Grey Thursday today!!

I'm hoping to get some stitching done today so there might be another post later today.

FNSI did not happen

I had thought that I would be able to get some stitching done for FNSI (Friday Night Stitch In) but it didn't happen.

The neck strain and back pain from the car accident are just getting too much.  I've been going to the chiropractor for quite a while. . . and this week I had to go to the doctor for the insurance company --- so I had 4 days of being twisted and turned.

It's getting a bit tiresome with how badly I feel. . . . never did I think that my neck and arms could cause such bedlam. . . my right hand goes numb so frequently (luckily I'm LEFT handed) and I have a hard time standing for long periods of time --- not to mention that I can't hold or turn my head in certain ways.

I'm going to try to get something done over the rest of the weekend. . . .I need to be able to get on with my life.

Good Riddance Sandy. . . . .God Bless the Victims

We got our power back last night but I needed to clean out the refrigerators before getting back on-line.

There is still no work since there is no power at the office. . . . hopefully things will be better by the end of the weekend.

It was nice to see on the news that there were tributes to the victims of Sandy at the CMA awards.  But I don't consider myself a victim.  Yes, I lost power for several days and lost some food that spoiled.

The real victims are those that are still without power, and water, and food, and the ones that have homes so damaged they can't go back to them. 

The victims are the ones that lived in the areas where the storm caused major water damage.  The Jersey shore is destroyed, as is the areas near the shore.  They are the true victims.

I continue to pray for those people and areas. . .  .plus the areas that our newscasters don't talk about. . . the New Yorkers, the other countries that were in Sandy's path. 

I also continue to pray for the workers from all over the country that have raced from their own homes to try to help out the people that need to be helped.

If you are the praying type I'd appreciate you adding your prayers. . . . . there are a lot of people here on the East Coast that will need them for the foreseeable future.
