Do not believe what you see at pet stores. . . . .

Anyone that has read my blog for any length of time knows that I am an animal lover. . . and have volunteered for a rescue group near where I live.

There continues to be a misunderstanding of where pets in pet stores come from.  Here is yet another story that shows that pet stores are "fronts" for puppy millers. . . . .

If you are looking for a companion animal please go to either a rescue group, animal shelter, or humane society.  Over 1 million animals are killed in this country (yes, even puppies and kittens) because they are homeless.  Instead of perpetuating the horror of puppy mills think about saving the life of a companion animal in a shelter.

Parent animals in puppy mills are mistreated and live horrible lives.  Puppy mills need to be eliminated throughout our entire country.

In peace and pieces,

Yay you! So glad when other share the horrors of animals in this country. In 2013, my local shelter killed 16 animals every day of the year.....yet the name of their facilty is Pets Are Worth Saving....many people believe this county operated public intake shelter is a no kill facility because of the name....but I educate them very quickly that they are not!

We have 2 rescue dogs. 1 we got as a puppy from the Humans Society in Asheville, NC. The other is a small dog that my son and his wife found on the street in California. We fell in love with her and the next time they visited us, they brought her to us on an airplane. I love them both dearly.

Our little dog is an Aussie Terrier, not a rescue but I have had rescues.
Our precious furry four legged friends are a blessing and agift.
