Gotta Catch Up!!!

Due to several situations I've gotten pretty backed up with some swaps that I am in. . .so I'm taking a bit of a blog break for the next week so that I can get caught up.

Yes, I know, I've been on an extended break. . .but that wasn't all "fun & games".

Now that the drudge work is over I can actually have some fun. And there will be pictures.

If you will notice on my side bar I have taken the "Process Pledge" (I found it through Amanda of Crazy Mom Quilts). The idea originated with Rossie; I think this is a wonderful idea & hope that I can provide as much inspiration as I get from seeing how others work.

So be on the look-out in June for more postings and lots of my projects that are "in process" and how they got there & where they are going (I hope!!) LOL

Oh boy. . . .I have been neglecting my blog, haven't I???

I can't believe that it has been over a month since I last posted here. Seems like I have been on the computer all the time --- oh wait, that's with the Facebook games, isn't it??!! he he he he

Since last I wrote there hasn't been a whole lot of activity. . . .went camping near Hershey, PA and went kayaking. Flipped the kayak (the water was freezing) but DH towed me to shore & we were able to get back down creek to the campground without too much additional "fun".

We purchased a new travel trailer. . . so we will have a nicer "home" when we are travelling. The travel trailer that "came with" DH was getting a bit travel weary (it is approximately 25 years old so I guess that is to be expected).

This new trailer has colors that we both like and has a much better floor plan than our current one. We haven't taken possession yet. . . the dealership should have it ready for us in the next day or so. After we pick it up I'll post pictures.

The basement is coming along nicely and we are looking forward to being able to easily use the quilting machine soon. Not that I am looking forward to using it; but I can see where using it to do the basting on quilts for hand piecing will save alot of time.

I'm working on designing some projects for the New Life Island quilt retreat in October. The theme for this years retreat is scrap quilting using 2 1/2" strips. . I'm hoping to have at least 4 projects available for the participants to choose from (if they do not bring their own projects to work on).

That's about all there is to say at this point. . .pictures will be coming shortly. . I did have a nice amount of blooms on my lilacs this year so I have some of those to show. The irises have bloomed and gone -- didn't get pictures of those.

All in all life has been moving on. . . just not too much to show.

Stash Report ---- April 4, 2010

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record here. . . .

Nothing in, Nothing out

Status --- 9.55 yards IN more than out

I'm in a couple of swaps and I want to get them done earlier than the deadline so I'm hoping to see some changes in the numbers in the next couple of weeks.

On the plus side. . . while I did not make it to the AQS Lancaster Show I did get to the Spring Blossom Quilt Market at the Continental (across from the Lancaster Host) and I came away with NO fabric! Actually the biggest purchase was some stencils that DH wanted to try IF he ever gets the quilting machine going. It's been assembled for 1 year and hasn't been touched.

While I may not have been creative I have been working on getting the house cleared out & organized (lest you all think that I have just been sitting around eating bon bons & watching TV!!) he he he he

I'm sure the recycling pick-up wasn't very pleased with the amount of shredded papers that we had out this past week. . . but I'll be working on a LOT more of that before I am done so I hope they get used to it.

Check out Judy's blog to see what other quilters have been doing in the past week.

I'm doing "it" again!! LOL

If you've paid any attention to my listing of goals for 2010 you will have seen that I wanted to get more done and wanted to be selective about the swaps that I get involved in.

Well, I've decided to get involved in a swap that Kate North is hostessing (Another Little Quilt Swap 4) -- see the link on my side bar.

If you love small quilts (and they have become my newest favorite thing to do) you might want to consider checking out the rules. And, if you are so moved you could sign up also.

I've been involved in several swaps that Kate was involved in and I can confidently say that I would recommend her swaps to anyone.

C'mon, you know you want to do this. . . . right??!! LOL

Stash Report -- Sunday, March 21, 2010

On a beautiful 1st day of Spring (yesterday) and National Quilting Day (also yesterday) I did absolutely NOTHING quilt related. . . .I started the Spring cleaning process.

Cleared out & organized a closet under the basement steps and took a bunch of stuff to Goodwill (the Lupus pick-up is too far away to wait). . .so. . .

Nothing in. . . .nothing out.

Holding at 9.55 IN for the year.

I've got to start getting back into the swing of things! LOL

I'm baaaaacccckkkk!!!!!

I know, you probably all think that I have gone nuts with this blog. Happily, I have not.

DH & I have been having a problem with someone but that situation has finally corrected itself and things are "running smoothly" at this point. There also was the Troll issue that I had been dealing with.

Both of these situations lead me to feel that it would be better to just shut down this blog & start over. . . .which I did for a while.

But, I haven't done anything wrong; I've always told the truth and treated people fairly so there is no reason for me to "turn tail and run".

So I'm not going to do that anymore. I started this blog back in 2007 and there is just too many things that I do not want to lose on it.

Therefore, I'm back. If the Troll wants to get their kicks that's fine; I know that I am a person with a higher moral code than they have. I haven't lied about anything in my live & do not live in a fantasy world or have to berate others to make myself feel better. That is their problem; not mine.

Exactly. . . . .

"Voice Of Truth"

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. 'Boy, you'll never win!'
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!
"You'll never win"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
