Back from Vacation

Ok, so I've been back for a couple of days. . . . but computer access has been a bit hard to come by.

Mr. Books & I had a wonderful week. . .left on 11/4 for North East, MD. Camped at Elk Neck State Park --- a wonderful state park that I would not hesitate to recommend. I believe that this was our third stay there.

Next it was down to American Heritage Campground near Williamsburg, VA. Again, this was a repeat stay because the campground is wonderful.

We spent a day in Colonial Williamsburg. This time around the weather was wonderful for strolling through the historic area; approximately 70 degree temps (so unlike what we had left here at home). We ate at one of the restaurants "in town". . . so far we have eaten at 3 of them; need to make another return visit in order to finish off our "tour".

After leaving Virginia we headed back north. . .to the Denver, PA area. We did a one night stop over at Candy Hill Campground in Winchester, VA. It is a good point to stop since I can't drive Mr. Books' truck nor pull the trailer.

In Denver, PA we stayed at Shady Grove Campground. Again, a place that we had used previously --- another favorite for us.

While in Pennsylvania I found two "new to me" quilt shops --- one in Ephrata (Piece by Piece Quilt Shop) and the other in Womelsdorf (In Stitches Quilt Shop).

Both shops were very nice and I could see myself travelling out to visit them again --- perhaps with some of my quilt buddies for a road trip.

We both picked up some fabrics; I got a pattern or two and some specialty rulers (I'm such a sucker for gadgets!! LOL).

I am finishing up some projects -- but you can't see them yet -- and I have to admit that I have been having a ball working on the projects that I have been doing!

Until next time,

Back Home

DH & I are recuperating from a lovely trip to Denver, PA. It's amazing how tired I get after coming back from a relaxing vacation!

Casey is doing well on her meds. . . .she is pretty much back to normal which is making both of us happy.

Sorry, no new pictures. . . .but I'm almost done with the afghan for my friend so I'll be showing that soon.

Have a wonderful day,

Back from Vacation!

Ok, so it's June 6th. . .and I'm back from a weeks vacation in lovely Williamsburg, Virginia.

Yup, spent a total of 9 days away from the house & I have the tan to prove it (not to mention the sunburn on my two arms that will make getting dressed for work tomorrow interesting!!).

This was the first trip with the new trailer & it was lovely. So much more room than the old one that came with DH. . . and the slide out living room provides even more room! yippee

We spent several days in Colonial Williamsburg, then a day each at Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory --- much more American history than I usually like to get involved in but DH was having a good time so it was fun.

But if only it hadn't been so darn hot & humid (there wasn't a day away that was less than 92 degrees. . . and this past Friday was at least 100 degrees (if not more)!!

I have pictures, I'm just too tired to look for the camera right now. . . will try to get to that tomorrow.

On the Road Again!!

Gee, it seems that lately most of my postings have been telling you that I am not going to be posting! LOL

DH & I (and Mr. Wiggles) are heading out early Sunday morning for a week's visit to Hancock, Massachusetts. We will be staying at a time share property at a ski resort & will not have computer access (since we do not own a laptop) unless we can get to a library with internet access.

I plan on taking several crochet projects that have been lingering in my UFO pile for much too long. . . .one is the circular baby afghan that I have shown pictures of previously -- once it is finished I will post another. Then I have a scrap yarn afghan (the Jacob's Ladder one that I have also posted previously) and a couple of doilies that are in half finished status.

It would be nice if I could find some hand piecing to bring with me. . . but I think I may just bring the rail fence baby quilt that I got from our quilt guilds Free table and just never got to finishing the quilting on --- it is more than 1/2 way done & there are several babies coming soon that it could be gifted to.

Other than that I hope to be able to find lots of flea markets, antique shops, "old time" country shops and the like to nose around in . . . and I will try to take pictures to pass on.

I have pictures of my nephew from Halloween but haven't uploaded them yet. . . will try to get to that before we leave on Sunday.

Stay warm!

Sherry
